"Sergeant Taylor displayed unequal ability in flawlessly preparing and instructing the Ranger's Marines on every facet of Visitation, Boarding, Search and Seizure Operations.  Extremely articulate and knowledgeable while showing an innate ability to get his point across, Sergeant Taylor would not rest until each student understood and was highly proficient in the subject matter.  He helped to provide a tremendous capability for the ship and the Ranger Battle Group, while ensuring a safe and productive training cycle. Sergeant Taylor's exceptional professionalism, initiative, and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and is in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service."

"For the record, Mike Taylor (DBA) as Camp CQB was contracted to complete an enormous and difficult task to develop and train our department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) mandated by my predecessor the late Sheriff James Hayes.  Upon completion of this training, the Etowah County SWAT was formed and organized by Mike Taylor.  Approximately one year later, the SWAT team had to take the life of a subject who had shot and killed his 14-year-old daughter. Once again, Mike’s training was validated.  I personally consulted with Mike during the investigation and the action report."
