Dr. G. Michael Shehi has distinguished himself in the medical profession for more than thirty years. His work in the fields of Psychiatry and Neurology are highly acclaimed. Dr. Shehi has participated in numerous research initiatives which have led to ground breaking treatments of diseases such as Schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s, Depression and Bipolar Affective Disorder. 


Dr. Shehi ‘s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) University of Tennessee, Chattanooga; Master of Arts (M.A.) Tennessee State University, Nashville and a Medical Doctorate (M.D.) from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. While completing his residency at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital, he served as a Research Fellow in the University’s Department of Psychiatry.


In 1983, he was licensed as a physician by the Alabama Medical Licensure Commission. Dr. Shehi is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Academy of Pain Management. 


In 1997, Dr. Shehi was recognized by the Alabama State Department of Mental Health with the “Respect Award”. The award is bestowed upon those persons who through their work exemplify the compassion and respect for the mentally ill. He is listed in the Cambridge “Who’s Who of Business Professionals”. He is the recipient of the “Exemplary Psychiatrist Award” presented by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.


Dr. Shehi is a noted speaker and has provided over five hundred presentations on subjects to include Schizophrenia, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Depression, Alzheimer ’s Disease, Crisis Intervention, and Stress Management to professional groups throughout the United States.


He has worked extensively with the US Department of Homeland Security on matters pertaining to National Security.
