Mr. Charles McBrayer has over twenty-five years of military and law enforcement experience. He is a disabled veteran and former Warrant Officer of  US Army Special Forces. He served two combat tours in Iraq where he was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB). While deployed in Iraq, he served as the subject matter expert for the Group’s Secure Satellite Navigation (SATNAV) Information System.


He was instrumental in the development of  Force Protection Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for a state National Guard Agency. Charles received numerous awards to include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, War on Terrorism Medal and the Iraqi Freedom Medal. Charles is a certified instructor in Firearms, Antiterrorism, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). He holds certifications in software, hardware and networking applications from Microsoft, Intel and Cisco Systems.


He possesses an extensive civilian and military law enforcement background to include tours of duty as a Criminal Investigator (CID) in the United States Army where he was responsible for the supervision of  police officers at two military installations. His investigative skills include expertise in burglary, robbery, sexual assault and homicide. In addition, he is certified by the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a firearms instructor.


As a Chief of Police, for a law enforcement agency in the southeast, Charles implemented the first ever “Community Oriented Policing Program (COP)”, which resulted in a newfound relationship with the community and a significant reduction in crime. He has held law enforcement positions as a Patrolman, Lieutenant, Captain and Assistant Chief. During his service with a state law enforcement agency Charles was responsible for the management of police and security services for one of the largest ports in the United States. He is a certified in state and federal courts as an expert witness in the use and trafficking of illegal narcotics.


He is a distinguished graduate of the Alabama State Trooper Academy and the Northeast Alabama Police Academy at Jacksonville State University.


Charles is very active in the community and participates in the cancer initiative known as “Relay for Life.”
